Elon Musk Passes Jeff Bezos to Become the Richest Person in the World

Elon Musk is officially the richest man in the world.

The 49-year-old Tesla CEO passed Amazon’s Jeff Bezos to become the richest in the world, with a net worth of over $185 billion, CNBC reported Thursday (January 7).

The increase in price of the Tesla share pushed him past Jeff Bezos, who was the richest person since 2017, and is currently worth about $184 billion.

“Musk’s wealth surge over the past year marks the fastest rise to the top of the rich list in history — and marks a dramatic financial turnaround for the famed entrepreneur,” the outlet reports. He began 2020 with about $27 billion, making him barely one of the Top 50 richest people.

Elon recently came under fire from Twitter users. He also revealed that he moved away from California.

His partner Grimes recently shared an extremely rare photo of their son X Æ A-XII.
