Social Media Reacts to Vice President-Elect Kamala Harris' 'Vogue' Cover

Kamala Harris is on the next cover of Vogue, and social media is reacting to the cover.
A low-resolution image of the Vice President-Elect on the magazine cover first floated through social media Saturday night (January 9), garnering some strong negative initial reactions from users.

Journalist Yashar Ali weighed in on the image on Twitter: “Some fashion magazine news….1. The February Vogue cover featuring VP-elect Kamala Harris has been widely criticized on social media this evening. But according to a source familiar with the publication plans, this is not the cover that the Vice President-elect’s team expected,” he wrote.
“2. In the cover that they expected, Vice President-elect Harris was wearing a powder blue suit. That was the cover that the Vice President-elect’s team and the Vogue team, including Anna Wintour, mutually agreed upon…which is standard for fashion magazines,” he continued.
“3. To be clear, this Vogue cover of Vice President-elect Kamala Harris is real. It’s just that per a source familiar, this is not the cover that was mutually agreed upon. The agreed upon cover had VP-elect Harris in a powder blue suit. So folks feel blindsided this evening.”
The outlet later revealed on Sunday (January 10) that the cover was, in fact, real.
Kamala Harris also went viral on social media recently after people realized she briefly dated someone famous years ago.

See some of the reactions inside…
Folks who don't get why the Vogue cover of VP-elect Kamala Harris is bad are missing the point. The pic itself isn't terrible as a pic. It's just far, far below the standards of Vogue. They didn't put thought into it. Like homework finished the morning it's due. Disrespectful.

People, I'll shoot shots of VP Kamala Harris for free using my Samsung and I'm 100% confident it'll turn out better than this Vogue cover. We can shoot it in my yard using natural sunlight and it'll still be better.

This is pretty far outside my lane so, I tread very lightly when I say, with, again, my untrained eye: The Vogue cover looks like such trash I assume it's fake or was purposely done by editorial to be mean to the next VP.

It’s not the shoes. It’s a bad photo. It is not flattering. She looks washed out. The lighting is wrong. What’s up with her hands. It looks out of focus. The background is trash. And the look on her face says why the fuck am I here. But for an eight year old it’s really good work

There are a lot of former Vogue and Conde Nast employees who have told me they believe that Anna Wintour does not truly respect Black women and most of her editorial decisions around Black women certainly reflect that sentiment.

Wait that Kamala Vogue cover is real?! I thought it was fake—that’s how bad it is.
Did they just ask her to send them photos her husband took or
