Bridgerton's Phoebe Dynevor Explains Why Fans Might Be Waiting a While for Season 2

Phoebe Dynevor, who plays Daphne Bridgerton in the new Netflix series Bridgerton, is explaining why she thinks fans will be waiting a while for a second season.

Nothing has been confirmed yet and Netflix hasn’t officially ordered another season of the series, but it seems inevitable that it will happen after the show’s massive success.

Phoebe thinks it could be a while until a new season is ready because of the pandemic.

“I can’t imagine how it would be possible to film under these circumstances,” she told Deadline. “There are so many extras and so many crew members, and it’s a very intimate show. It just baffles me how we would film it under COVID rules unless there was a vaccine beforehand.”

Phoebe does have experience with filming in the middle of the pandemic though. She returned to the set of Younger last year to film scenes for the upcoming seventh season.

“When I was filming, it was masks on in rehearsals,” she said. “So, you don’t take them off until [they] say ‘action.’ Or at least we didn’t. It was a really strange experience. I didn’t see my character’s new boyfriend’s face until we were filming a scene together, which was really bizarre.”

So, what does she think will happen in Bridgerton season two?

“I genuinely have no idea what they’re going to do with the second season, but I imagine if they’re following the books, then it would be Anthony’s journey,” Phoebe said. “I’m sure Daphne will end up getting involved. But yeah, I do wonder what it looks like. I’m excited to find out.”
