Prince Harry & Meghan Markle's Shoot Down 'Clickbait' Claims About Archie's Birth Certificate

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have responded to the report about the changes in their son, Archie‘s birth certificate.

The almost two-year-old son of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s birth certificate reportedly underwent some changes, according to many accounts coming out of England.

The change, which saw Meghan‘s given name being dropped from the official document, and Harry‘s adding a “Prince” to it, actually happened well over a year earlier about a month after Archie was born.

Instead of Rachel Meghan being on Archie‘s certificate under mother, it now just states “Her Royal Highness the Duchess of Sussex.”

Harry‘s now also says “His Royal Highness Prince Henry Charles Albert David Duke of Sussex” in the father box.

“The change of name on public documents in 2019 was dictated by The Palace, as confirmed by documents from senior Palace officials,” Meghan and Harry‘s reps shared in a statement on the matter. “This was not requested by Meghan, The Duchess of Sussex nor by The Duke of Sussex.”

One report also called the change a “snub” to sister-in-law Kate Middleton, Duchess of Cambridge. She uses her full name on her certificates of her own children – Princes George and Louis, and Princess Charlotte.

The statement continued, “To see this U.K. tabloid and their carnival of so-called ‘experts’ choose to deceptively whip this into a calculated family ‘snub’ and suggest that she would oddly want to be nameless on her child’s birth certificate, or any other legal document, would be laughable were it not offensive. There’s a lot going on in the world; let’s focus on that rather than creating clickbait.”

Previously, Harry has spoken out about rumors of him and Meghan, including how they “quit” social media.
