Who Plays Pietro Maximoff? Evan Peters & Aaron Taylor-Johnson Have Both Portrayed Quicksilver

Pietro Maximoff is a huge trending topic right now thanks to the new series WandaVision, which is streaming on Disney+.

WandaVision follows Elizabeth Olsen as Wanda Maximoff, who made her debut in the Marvel Cinematic Universe in 2015′s Avengers: Age of Ultron.

Wanda’s twin brother Pietro, as played by Aaron Taylor-Johnson in that movie, died at the hands of Ultron and his death has been brought up several times on the new TV series.

Pietro, known as the superhero Quicksilver, was also played by Evan Peters in the X-Men franchise, which was owned by Fox until just a couple years ago when Disney purchased the studio.

Evan played the superhero in 2014′s X-Men: Days of Future Past, 2016′s X-Men: Apocalypse, and most recently in 2019′s X-Men: Dark Phoenix.

In the most recent episode of WandaVision, Pietro shows up at Wanda’s front door, much to her surprise. He is no longer being played by Aaron, who previously worked with Elizabeth in the MCU. Evan is now playing the role!

It’s clear when Pietro shows up that Wanda was not in control of his appearance. Also, Darcy notes that she “recast Pietro,” acknowledging that someone else is playing the role.

The entrance of Evan Peters‘ version of Pietro might be signaling the introduction of a multiverse into the MCU. There are many rumors that a Spider-Man multiverse will be introduced in the upcoming movie as well.
