Conservative Radio Host Rush Limbaugh Has Passed Away at 70

Rush Limbaugh has died.

The conservative radio personality, who was on air for more than 30 years, passed away due to lung cancer, TMZ reported Wednesday (February 17).

He previously announced that he was battling lung cancer last year. He had been missing shows recently, as producers called for prayers.

His The Rush Limbaugh Show has been in national syndication since 1988, he wrote seven books, and he was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom by former President Donald Trump for achievements in radio during the 2020 State of the Union address. He was also inducted into the National Radio Hall of Fame and the National Association of Broadcasters Hall of Fame, and his show was named most listened-to in the United States in 2019.

His controversial, often incendiary views on feminism, race, the LGBTQ community, climate change and, most recently, the pandemic were highly criticized and widely polarizing, making him an extremely divisive figure in American pop culture.

Rush Limbaugh was also married four times, and divorced three times. He is survived by his current wife, Kathryn Rogers. The two wed in 2010.

All of these stars passed away in 2021.
