Prince Harry & Meghan Markle Could Lose Their Royal Roles Very Soon

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex (Prince Harry and Meghan Markle) are expected to hear a final decision about their royal roles – and what will happen with their patronage titles – very, very soon.

Insiders are telling People that the royal couple are expected to lose their patronages – “which represent their involvement with numerous U.K. charities.” Originally, the decision was supposed to be re-assessed on March 31, on the one year anniversary of their official exit as senior members of the royal family.

They are expected to not use their His/Her Highness titles, but they will retain the titles as well as their Duke and Duchess of Sussex titles.

Insiders say they will be expected to give up their patronages which include Rugby Football Union, the Rugby Football League and the London Marathon for Prince Harry and the National Theatre for Meghan.

It is expected that Prince Harry will lose his honorary military appointments. An insider previously spoke about how the Prince would be extremely emotional over this decision.

“Harry will always be a great ambassador for this country,” an insider added.

Part of the decision to expedite this process is because of their new commercial relationships with Spotify and Netflix. “It was clear to her from the start that a hybrid role is not an option,” a source said of the Queen’s desire for them to be all-in as royals, or all-out.
