Pregnant Bindi Irwin Says Her Dad Steve Irwin Helped Inspire Her Unborn Daughter's Nickname

Bindi Irwin is counting down the days until she’s a mom!

The 22-year-old conservationist, who is expecting a baby girl with husband Chandler Powell, shared in a new interview that she and her husband don’t have a name picked out for their daughter just yet.

“We are waiting to meet her before we decide on a name,” Bindi shared with The Bump. “We want to hold her and make sure the name that we choose fits her perfectly.”

“We have been looking through family history on both my side and Chandler’s side for family name inspiration,” Bindi continued. “Once she arrives I think we’ll know exactly what to name her.”

Also in the interview, Bindi revealed that she and Chandler already have a sweet nickname for their daughter, which was inspired by her late dad Steve Irwin.

My dad was the first person to create the term ‘Wildlife Warrior’. Being a Wildlife Warrior means to stand up and speak for those who cannot speak for themselves,” Bindi explained. “We’ve been referring to our daughter as our Baby Wildlife Warrior. I know in my heart that she will forge her own path to make our planet a better place.”

Bindi and Chandler revealed they were expecting in early August. They married in an intimate ceremony back in March 2020.
