Prince Harry Shares Candid Thoughts on 'The Crown' & Why He Prefers the Show to Tabloids

Prince Harry is sharing some candid thoughts on the Netflix series The Crown and why he is more comfortable watching the show than seeing the tabloid coverage of his family.

The 36-year-old royal spoke out during a lengthy interview on The Late Late Show with James Corden, which aired on late Thursday night (February 25).

“They don’t pretend to be news. It’s fictional, but it’s loosely based on the truth. Of course, it’s not strictly accurate,” Harry said when asked about the show.

He continued, “It gives you a rough idea of what that lifestyle, what the pressures of putting duty and service above family and everything else, what can come from that. I’m way more comfortable with The Crown than I am seeing the stories written about my family, or my wife, or myself. It’s the difference between… that is obviously fiction, take it how you will, but this is being reported on as fact because you’re supposedly news. I have a real issue with that.”

Harry revealed that the actor he’d like to see play him in The Crown is Damian Lewis, though he thought his name was Daniel!

When James suggested that he play Prince William, Harry responded by saying, “That’s not great casting, but it is casting.”

On the latest season of The Crown, Harry‘s parents Prince Charles and the late Princess Diana were one of the main storylines.
