Meghan Markle's Apology From Associated Newspapers Is Delayed - Here's Why

Meghan Markle was expecting an apology from Associated Newspapers, but that apology will be delayed.

If you don’t know, the 39-year-old Duchess sued Associated Newspapers for invasion of privacy and copyright infringement over a series of articles in 2019 in The Mail on Sunday and MailOnline, which featured parts of a private letter from her father Thomas after her marriage to Prince Harry. She won, and as part of the judgement, the news source was supposed to publish an apology letter to her.

A judge ruled today that Associated Newspapers has the right to ask for an appeal on the ruling and they could hold off on the publication of the apology until they hear the results.

“The defendants are entitled to ask the Court of Appeal to look at their grounds and decide if those points justify the grant of permission to appeal,” the judge said (via ET). “To refuse a stay in the meantime would negate that entitlement.”

Find out who did just apologize to the former royal couple.
