Lauren Daigle's History with 'American Idol' Revealed - She Was on Multiple Seasons!

Lauren Daigle is appearing on American Idol tonight (April 19) and they keep teasing her as an “alum” of the show, even though most people probably don’t remember her being a contestant.
The 29-year-old “You Say” singer has actually been a contestant on multiple seasons of the singing competition and she has a long history with the show!

Lauren first tried out for 2010′s season nine and she was cut from the competition right before the Top 24 round. She tried out again in 2011, but didn’t make it to Hollywood.
The third and final time that Lauren tried out for Idol was for 2012′s season eleven, but she was cut in the first Las Vegas round.
Lauren eventually released her first album How Can It Be in 2015 and she has a major breakthrough with her 2018 song “You Say,” the lead single of her third album. She is the winner of two Grammy Awards, four American Music Awards, and six Billboard Music Awards, among other honors.
During her appearance on American Idol‘s new season, Lauren performed her song “Look Up Child” from her Grammy-winning album of the same name.
