Oprah Looks Back at Her 'Powerful' Interview with Meghan Markle & Prince Harry

Oprah Winfrey is looking back at the impact of her interview with Meghan Markle and Prince Harry.

The interview, hosted in the beginning of March, sent a shockwave through the royal family and many royal fans were also astonished as what the Duke and Duchess of Sussex shared with Oprah.

“I had no idea that it would have the reverberating impact it has had and continues to have. I did a lot of preparation for that,” Oprah shared during an interview of her own on Nancy O’Dell‘s talkshoplive channel.

She did recall being taken back herself when Meghan brought up the conversation about the tone of their son Archie‘s skin color before he was born.

“I’m like, ‘What? You’re going there? You’re going all the way there.’”

She also revealed that she did touch base with Meghan and Harry through text ahead of the interview.

“Whenever I’m doing interviews with anybody for anything that is significant, I have a conversation with them before,” she said. “I didn’t see Harry and Meghan before but I did text them and say intention is very important to me, tell me what your intention is, so that we can be aligned in our goal. And our shared intention was the truth. They wanted to be able to tell their story and tell it in such a way that allowed them to be as truthful as possible.”

Oprah also thinks it was such a powerful interview because “you have someone else who is willing to be as open, as vulnerable, as truthful, as they were.”
