Zach Wilson‘s life is about to change drastically after being drafted by the New York Jets as the No. 2-overall pick at the 2021 NFL Draft!

It has been rumored for weeks that Wilson was going to be drafted by the Jets and the team made it official on Thursday night (April 29) at the draft in Cleveland, Ohio.

The 21-year-old quarterback has previously played for Brigham Young University and like most students at that school, he identifies as a Mormon. He has said that he doesn’t feel comfortable being portrayed as a representative of the church though.

“It is not something I am against, it is just that I didn’t grow up active in the church,” he told Desert News. “I’m not that ‘poster boy’ for the church. … I was never really a churchgoer my whole life, just not involved much in it. My family and I hold the same morals and values that the church does, for sure, but I really didn’t know a lot about the teaching and stuff until I got to BYU.”

For those wondering, Zach is 6-foot-2 and weighs in at 214 pounds, according to the New York Post.

Zach has been dating his girlfriend, high school sweetheart Abbey Gile, since 2017. She is a student at Utah Valley University.
