Finn Wittrock Will Play a Big Role in 'Green Lantern' Series at HBO Max!

Finn Wittrock is joining the cast!

The 36-year-old actor has been cast in the upcoming Green Lantern HBO Max series, Variety reported Friday (April 30).

Finn is best known for his many Ryan Murphy collaborations, including starring in multiple seasons of American Horror Story, as well as the second season of American Crime Story and Ratched.

He will star as Guy Gardner, who is described as “a hulking mass of masculinity, and, as rendered in the comics, an embodiment of 1980s hyper-patriotism. And yet, Guy is somehow likable.”

This is the first casting for the DC Comics show, first announced in 2019 and ordered to series in 2020.

Here’s a plot summary: “The story spans decades and galaxies, beginning on Earth in 1941 with the very first Green Lantern, secretly gay FBI agent Alan Scott, and 1984, with cocky alpha male Gardner and half-alien Bree Jarta. They’ll be joined by a multitude of other Lanterns — from comic book favorites to never-before-seen heroes.”

Ryan Reynolds, who played Green Lantern in the poorly received movie adaptation in 2011, recently live-tweeted the experience.
