Jodie Turner-Smith Was In Her Second Trimester While Filming 'Without Remorse'

Jodie Turner-Smith is opening up about the special military training she went through to prepare for her role in Without Remorse.

The 34-year-old actress revealed to Variety that her training was different from her co-stars, which included Michael B. Jordan and Jamie Bell, all because she was in her second trimester during that time.

“[Training] wasn’t straightforward because I was pregnant, so that definitely added a layer of complexity to it,” she shared. I gave it all of myself.”

Jodie explained that because she was pregnant with daughter Janie, who she shares with husband Joshua Jackson, that presented new challenges for her. But she was ready to take those on.

“We worked really closely with these guys on set who were there to teach us how to operate in combat, how to move with and around each other, how to talk to each other,” Jodie says. “We’re emulating guys who have been working together, alongside each other for years, so there needed to be a sense of familiarity and comfort and ease to how they work together.”

She also recalled going through training for the specific underwater stunts she was involved in.

“I don’t know if you know this, but when you are pregnant, it’s very hard to hold your breath,” she admits. “So, I had unique challenges that my co-stars didn’t have.”
