Emily Blunt & John Krasinski Are Reportedly In a Money Dispute with Paramount Over 'A Quiet Place Part II'

The highly anticipated movie A Quiet Place Part II is finally hitting theaters later this month, but star Emily Blunt and director John Krasinski are seemingly not satisfied with the release strategy.

It’s being reported that Emily and John, who are a married couple, are in a pay dispute with Paramount Pictures, the studio behind the film.

The movie will hit theaters on May 28 and 45 days later, the movie will start streaming for free on the new streaming service Paramount+. Movies normally stay in theaters for 90 days before they are available for home viewing, but the studio is cutting this number in half.

The original A Quiet Place movie earned $341 million at the worldwide box office back in 2018 and it’s likely that Emily and John had deals in place to give them significant bonuses based on box office performance.

“Many Hollywood stars are paid in part based on box-office receipts. So if movies spend less time playing on big screens, stars like Krasinski and Blunt could get shortchanged,” Bloomberg reported.

The outlet says that representatives for the couple, as well as the producers of the movie, are asking Paramount for compensation for the shortened theatrical window. The studio has reportedly “rebuffed them thus far.”

Krasinski‘s talent agent reportedly laughed when asked about the actor’s payday, but then added, “I’ll be curious what they pay for A Quiet Place 3!”

Check out the final trailer for A Quiet Place Part II, which was released just yesterday.
