Seth Rogen Shared A Wild Story About George Lucas Thinking The World Was Going To End in 2012

Seth Rogen can’t stop thinking about his chance encounter with George Lucas in 2011, so much so, that it’s even in his new book.

In a recent GQ profile, the 39-year-old actor opened up about meeting George by chance during a business meeting with his producing partner Evan Goldberg and Steven Spielberg.

George apparently turned up unannounced to the meeting and started to talk to the three about the “impending apocalypse” coming in 2012.

Seth explained that George thought that the entire world would end, or “at the very least, that everything west of the San Andreas Fault would soon sink into the ocean.”

In his GQ article, Seth went on saying that he sat “down and seriously proceeds to talk for around 25 minutes about how he thinks the world is gonna end in the year 2012, for real. He thinks it. He’s going on about the tectonic plates and all the time Spielberg is rolling his eyes, like, ‘My nerdy friend won’t shut up, I’m sorry.’”

Seth mentions the meeting in his new book, a collection of essays titled “Yearbook”, and even recalls that Evan asked George again about his thoughts of the apocalypse.

“I know it’s gonna happen…it’s science. And I know science,” he insisted.

Seth added that they had “[made] a joke like, if you’ve got a spaceship to escape Earth, can we get a seat on that thing? And he was like, ‘No.’ It makes me think he wasn’t joking because, if you were joking, you would just say ‘Yes’… But, no, he said, ‘No.’ To this day, I am confounded and plagued by that story.”

Earlier this week, pics surfaced of Seth on the set of Hulu‘s Pam & Tommy.
