Gina Carano Is Included in Lucasfilm's Emmy Campaign For 'The Mandalorian' Despite Being Fired

Gina Carano is being pushed as a possible Emmy nominee from Lucasfilm for The Mandalorian, despite being fired earlier this year.

The 39-year-old actress starred as fan favorite Cara Dune for season two, however, she was fired from the series following various social media posts that compared many of the pandemic protocols to the Holocaust and more.

Over the weekend, a poster surfaced from Disney and Lucasfilm, which promoted cast members for the award show.

Pedro Pascal, Giancarlo Esposito, and Temuera Morrison are listed for Lead Actor and Supporting Actor categories, and Gina is also listed for Supporting Actress.

Many others have been listed for Guest Actor as well including Omid Abtahi, Bill Burr, Rosario Dawson, Mark Hamill, John Leguizamo, Timothy Olyphant, Katee Sackhoff and Ming-Na Wen.

During last year’s show, The Mandalorian picked up a total of 15 nominations and won seven of them.

Gina nor her character, Cara Dune, will return for the third season of the show, which had been planned. Here’s what the Disney CEO shared of her firing…
