“Like she said in her monologue, I think it was two years ago she signed on for three more years,” tWitch shared with ET Canada. “This upcoming year was the third year.”

On Wednesday (May 12), Ellen announced that she was ending her long-running talk show, saying that she no longer found the show to be a “challenge” for her.

The following day, Ellen started off her show by talking about her decision to end the show, saying she “always knew in my heart that Season 19 would be my last.”

tWitch also praised Ellen for her successful run hosting the show.

“Ellen has done incredible, incredible things over the years… we have another year left to continue to bring inspiring stories, to dance, to laugh,” tWitch shared. “I’m proud of my friend, I’m excited for her and I’m excited for her next chapter. And I’m excited to celebrate the show.”

tWitch added, “With this 19th season coming up being the finale season, that’s a year to celebrate all of those things and while also continuing to do those things as well… and also take a look back and enjoy all of the things that have been done.”

The Ellen DeGeneres Show will end with Season 19 in Spring 2022. NBC is considering this star to take over as the host of a new talk show.
