With only a few hours left until the Mom series finale, many fans are wondering if Anna Faris will return.

The show was cancelled after eight seasons on the air, just weeks following the announcement that Anna had left the show.

The shocking announcement of Anna‘s exit was revealed in September 2020, just a few weeks ahead of the start of production on what would become the final season.

At the time, Anna revealed that her exit was so she could pursue other opportunities.

“The past seven years on Mom have been some of the most fulfilling and rewarding of my career,” Anna shared in a statement. “I’m so thankful to Chuck [Lorre], the writers, and my amazing castmates for creating a truly wonderful work experience. While my journey as Christy has come to an end, allowing me to pursue new opportunities, I’ll be watching next season and rooting for my TV family.”

Her exit was ominous of what was to come.

Anna‘s character, Christy, was written out of the show by having her head off to law school on the other side of the country.

It’s not clear if Anna will be part of the series finale, which airs tonight at 9/8c on CBS.
