Gigi Hadid Responds to Fan Who Called Her Anti-Semitic After Showing Support for Palestine

Gigi Hadid is speaking out in response to being called anti-Semitic.

The 26-year-old model spoke out this week to show her support for Palestine amid the airstrikes from Israel. For those who don’t know, Gigi‘s father Mohammed Hadid was born in Palestine.

Gigi reposted a quote this week that said, “One cannot advocate for racial equality, LGBT and women’s rights, condemn corrupt and abusive regimes, and other injustices yet choose to ignore the Palestinian oppression. It does not add up. You cannot pick and choose whose human rights matter more.”

One person wrote as a comment to the post, “Another anti-Semitic celebrity.” Someone else said, “We gonna stay in Israel, no matter how much u try to kill us its our land and our country and we don’t give up on her.”

Gigi responded to both of these comments and shared the replies on her Instagram feed.

“I condemn anti-Semitism. ‘I’ am not trying to kill you, nor would I ever want that,” Gigi said in her response. “I do not wish any more deaths upon Israelis, just as I feel about Palestinians. What I do want is equal rights for Palestinians. There are also Jewish Palestinians and Christian Palestinians, as there was, coexisting, with my father’s Muslim Palestinian family when he was born in Palestine in 1948. I wish you peace.”

Last weekend, Gigi celebrated her first Mother’s Day with her daughter Khai.
