Walt Disney World Makes Face Masks Optional Outdoors

Walt Disney World is the next theme park to announce it will not require guests to wear face masks outdoors.

The “Happiest Place on Earth” theme park revealed the big news on their blog on Friday, May 14, and shared that the new rule change would go into effect immediately.

Walt Disney World shared that face masks are now optional for all guests, whether you are vaccinated or not, in all outdoor common locations.

However, cast members will still be wearing them, and you will still have to wear them when “entering and throughout all attractions, theaters and transportation.”

The update added that “masks must be worn at all times indoors unless guests are dining or swimming. Guests may temporarily remove masks while actively eating, drinking.”

At this time, the change only applies to the Walt Disney World theme park in Florida.

This other theme park also just eased face mask guidelines, too.
