Taylor Lautner Joins 'Home Team' Movie With Kevin James; His First in Five Years

Taylor Lautner is headed back to the screen in a new movie with Kevin James.

The 29-year-old former Twilight actor will star opposite Kevin and Rob Schneider in Netflix’s Home Team, according to The Wrap.

The film will focus on New Orleans Saints coach Sean Payton in 2012 when he was suspended by NFL commissioner Roger Goddell for the entire 2012 season related to the team’s role in the “Bountygate” scandal.

If you’re unfamiliar, the team was accused of paying out bounties or bonuses to players who successfully injured opposing team players.

In addition to Taylor and Rob as new cast members, Jackie Sandler, Gary Valentine, Tait Blum, Maxwell Simkins, Jacob Perez, Bryant Tardy, Manny Magnus, Liam Kyle, Christopher Farrar, Merek Mastrov, Isaiah Mustafa, Christopher Titone, Ashley D. Kelley, Lavell Crawford, Allen Covert, Anthony L. Fernandez and Jared Sandler will also be in the movie.

Just last year, fans were hoping that Taylor would have returned to the screen for the continuation of The Adventures of Sharkboy and Lavagirl franchise. However, he did not.

Taylor‘s last credited on-screen performance was in 2016′s Run The Tide.
