'Panic' Series Creator Talks Season 2 Possibilities, Plus Learn About the Spin-Offs!

The new series Panic on Amazon Prime Video is quickly garnering a fan base after being released this weekend!

The 10-episode first season is based on the novel by Lauren Oliver, who also wrote and created the series.

Panic takes place in a small Texas town, where every summer the graduating seniors compete in a series of challenges, winner takes all, which they believe is their one and only chance to escape their circumstances and make their lives better. But this year, the rules have changed – the pot of money is larger than ever and the game has become even more dangerous. The players will come face to face with their deepest, darkest fears and be forced to decide how much they are willing to risk in order to win.

The cast features many new faces who are bound to become big stars, including Olivia Welch, Mike Faist, Jessica Sula, Camron Jones, and Ray Nicholson (the son of Jack Nicholson!).

In a new interview, Lauren is opening up about the possibility of making a second season.

At the end of the season, Olivia‘s character Heather Nill is declared the winner of Panic and while she’s driving out of town, a truck pulls up alongside hers and throws a dummy onto her windshield. It seems another game of Panic is about to begin.

So, what will happen in season two?

“I am very much hoping to continue it and I was hoping to continue the book. I will say, we don’t need to get into the intricacies of publishing,” Lauren told Cinema Blend. “I would love to, the first step is people have to love it but absolutely and certainly if we do continue it, it won’t be a set and scramble from the material. There’s tons of thinking already and tons of material that didn’t make it into the show about the rules of the game and about what might come afterwards, but we’ll see.”
