Sophie Turner to Star in HBO Max's Highly Anticipated Series 'The Staircase'

Sophie Turner is the latest star to join the cast of the upcoming HBO Max limited series The Staircase.

The upcoming series is based on the docu-series of the same name and falls the real cast of Michael Peterson, who was accused of murdering his wife Kathleen in 2001.

Colin Firth will be playing Peterson while Toni Collette will star as Kathleen.

Variety reports, “He claimed she died after falling down the stairs at their home, but police suspected he bludgeoned her to death and staged the scene to look like an accident.”

Sophie has been cast as Margaret Ratliff, one of Michael Peterson’s adopted daughters. This marks her return to the HBO family after previously starring in the network’s biggest show ever, Game of Thrones.

Also in the cast are Juliette Binoche, Rosemarie Dewitt, and Parker Posey.
