Lisa Kudrow Reveals She Had to Google the Chords to 'Smelly Cat' Before Filming the 'Friends: The Reunion' Special

Lisa Kudrow is dishing on what happened behind-the scenes of the Friends reunion special!

The 57-year-old actress appeared on The Ellen DeGeneres Show on Friday (June 4) and revealed what led up to her performance of “Smelly Cat” alongside guest star Lady Gaga on the show.

Lisa said of her performance with the “Stupid Love” singer, “Oh, that was great. I was really nervous when I first heard that and then I prepared. I realized that I had to learn ‘Smelly Cat’ again.”

“I tuned my guitar and then realized I don’t know the chords. But I Googled it. All the chords were there. So, thank you world for posting the chords,” she added.

“I learned [the song] and then my throat closed,” Lisa continued. “I was so panicked that I couldn’t get anything out. I didn’t know what was going to happen, but it worked out,” adding that the reunion “turned out well.”

As for whether she kept up her guitar after she finished her run on the sitcom, Lisa said, “”No, oh no. Absolutely not. Just for the show — for those 10 years and then I was DONE.”

Once they finished performing the song, Lady Gaga thanked Lisa for playing “the different one” and the character who was “really herself” on the show. The actress said that the compliment almost made her cry.

“That blew me away,” she said. “Also, coming from her, because my son was in grade school and all the kids were listening to Lady Gaga and her whole message was everyone be yourself and be you. That was amazing.”
