Drake Is Opening a Concert Venue in Canada!

Drake has big plans.

The 34-year-old entertainer is partnering with Live Nation to create History, a new live entertainment venue in his hometown of Toronto, Canada later in 2021, the company confirmed Tuesday (June 8).

“Some of my most memorable shows were playing smaller rooms like History. I wanted to take those memories and what I learned to create an incredible experience for both the artists and the fans,” he said in a statement.

The 2,500-capacity venue will “offer artists a versatile and intimate destination to perform and connect with fans in Toronto.” They currently plan to host 200 concerts and events annually.

“We saw an opportunity to bring Toronto a great new venue, and we have so much gratitude and respect for Drake teaming up with us to bring it to life in the best way possible,” said Live Nation’s Michael Rapino.

The plan has been in development for over three years. Construction is scheduled to be completed later in the summer.

The events to be hosted at the venue will begin to be announced throughout the coming weeks.

Drake‘s also been staying in shape amid the pandemic, and just recently showed off his sweaty progress.
