Michael Douglas Was Awkwardly Mistaken For Daughter Carys' Grandfather

Michael Douglas is opening up about the moment he was mistaken for his daughter, Carys‘, grandfather instead of her father.

The moment happened during Carys‘ recent high school graduation and Michael revealed to Kelly Clarkson on her talk show that another parent mistook him for her grandfather.

“I gotta tell you, Kelly, it’s a little rough when you’re going out the doors and the other parents are saying, ‘Oh congratulations… you must be so proud of your granddaughter,’” he noted.

Michael didn’t take it that personally though: “I said, ‘Well, I don’t know, man. Yeah, okay.’ I’m not gonna take it personal, they’re just trying to be nice.”

Carys graduated just weeks ago, and Michael shared a sweet note to his only daughter on his Instagram.

“Your Mom and I are so proud of you! We love you so much and we are so excited for your future as the best is yet to come! ❤️ Dad,” he captioned.

Michael and wife Catherine Zeta-Jones share Carys and son, Dylan. He also has an older son named Cameron.
