Variety reports that 19-year-old Sam, an up and coming Aussie actor, will take on the role of a high school classmate in Steven‘s upcoming flick.

Nothing more is known about Sam‘s character at this time, but he joins a handful of stars in the upcoming film, including Michelle Williams in a role inspired by Steven‘s mom, Paul Dano in a role inspired by his father, Seth Rogen as his favorite uncle, and Julia Butters as his sister.

Gabriel LaBelle will play a young version of Steven in the movie, which the filmmaker co-wrote with Tony Kushner. Filming is expected to begin this summer, with a 2022 release date.

Sam doesn’t have a large filmography yet, but recently appeared in Ruby’s Choice with Jane Seymour, and will next be seen in season two Amazon Prime’s The Wilds.
