Erika Jayne Talks Divorce from Tom Girardi for First Time, Explains Why She Left Him

Erika Jayne is opening up for the first time.

During the latest episode of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills on Wednesday (June 23), the 49-year-old star talked to her co-stars about her decision to divorce husband Tom Girardi after 20 years of marriage.

“My life drastically changed this week. I let go of my Lamborghini, I let go of my 16,000-square-foot home, I let go of my marriage – I let go of everything,” Erika shared. “I literally made a decision that I had to.”

During her confessional, Erika explained what ultimately led her to file for divorce from the 82-year-old lawyer.

“I left because he pushed me further and further out,” Erika said. “The conversations that I used to have were now reduced down to a sentence or two. I just kept walking around that house and knowing that this marriage was headed down a really sh—y path, I had to make a choice to do what was right for me. I couldn’t live that way anymore.”

Later, Erika said that she “struggled for a long time” knowing that she needed to end her marriage. Once she made her decision, she “spent a good 30 days closing out certain parts” of her life.

“I cried every day,” Erika admitted. “This was the end of a massive part of my life, stepping into basically a void.”

She also said that she “tried to talk and tried to work it out” with Tom, but told her co-stars that she was “met with such resistance to such resistance” in return. She also said that she had trouble having honest, open conversations with Tom about her feelings because it was “always dismissed.”

Over a dinner with Lisa Rinna, Erika talked more about her divorce.

“It’s insanity. I’ve not felt this vulnerable in maybe never,” Erika said. “I really tried and talked and attempted. So he left me no room, and that’s the only way I can say it right now.”

Erika officially filed for divorce from Tom back in November 2020.

Days after the filing, Tom and Erika were accused of embezzling money from his clients to fund their lavish lifestyle.

Just recently, Tom was placed under a permanent conservatorship amid claims that his health has “deteriorated.”
