Aly Michalka Opens Up About Doing An R-Rated 'Cow Belles' Movie Reboot

Aly Michalka could be persuaded to do a follow up to Disney Channel Original Movie, Cow Belles.

However, the 32-year-old actress and singer has one stipulation for it.

If you’re unaware, Cow Belles starred Aly and her younger sister/duo partner AJ Michalka as Taylor and Courtney Callum, two spoilt sisters are made to work in the family business in the absence of their father.

When someone empties the company accounts, they must track down the culprit to save the business.

While promoting her first Hallmark Channel movie, Aly opened up about the idea of rebooting Cow Belles now, 15 years after the flick first hit Disney Channel.

“There’s definitely a funny version of Cow Belles 15 years later and the girls are maybe divorced or whatever, and they’re trying to keep the family business going,” Aly mused to Entertainment Tonight. “There’s definitely something funny there, but who knows?”

She does admit that it would be a challenge to get Disney to agree to let them reimagine the movie, and with more grown-up content, it might end up on Disney+.

Aly adds, “The hard part is if that’s allowed and if the channel would allow that to be seen that way, just because we don’t own the property.”

“It would just be a matter of how adult it really is. But there’s still stuff on there like Mandalorian that is technically adult content. It’s not just for kids,” she shared.

This cast of this other Disney Channel Original Movie are rooting for an R-rated version as well.
