Bill Cosby to Walk Free, Sexual Assault Conviction Overturned

Pennsylvania’s highest court has agreed to let Bill Cosby walk free, overturning his sexual assault conviction on Wednesday (June 30).

In late 2015, Cosby, 83, was arrested and charged for the sexual assault and drugging of Andrea Constand. He eventually was sentenced to 3-10 years, and vowed to spend 10 years in prison versus express remorse. He had served two years thus far.

The reason why Pennsylvania’s supreme court is letting Cosby walk free and overturning his conviction is because of an “agreement with a previous prosecutor [that] prevented him from being charged in the case.”

THR explained that during his trial, the judge had allowed one other accuser to testify at his very first trial when the jury came back deadlocked. A retrial then occurred, where the judge allowed five other accusers to testify.

The Pennsylvania Supreme Court is saying that that testimony tainted the entire trial, and are overturning the conviction.
