Black Bear & Her Cubs Go Swimming in Lake Tahoe Alongside Shocked Beachgoers!

Beachgoers were in for a bit of a shock during their visit to Lake Tahoe!

On Sunday (June 27), a family of black bears decided to make a trip to Pope Beach in California for a dip in water, leaving beachgoers totally stunned.

“We were all a little shocked,” onlooker Jen Watkins told KCRA.

Jen took a video of the adult black bear and her three cubs splashing around in the lake as fellow beachgoers looked on in total shock.

As the cubs played in the water, the mama bear made her way to someone’s cooler to steal some snacks before they all disappeared into the forest.

Despite the cute moment, Placer County Sheriff’s Office Lt. Nelson Resendes told KRCA that beachgoers should be careful around bears.

“They’re unpredictable. They’re dangerous….They can appear to be mild-mannered at times, but they can be very dangerous,” Resendes said.

He added, “Don’t feed them, don’t entice them, don’t provoke them and, obviously in a setting like this don’t approach them. Respect their space.”
