Demi Lovato Releases Statement on Being Misgendered & What Happens If You Make a Mistake

A few months ago, Demi Lovato came out as non-binary and announced they are using they/them pronouns.

The 28-year-old entertainer posted a message about misgendering and what to do if you misgender them.

Demi posted, “I felt the need to post this because I often find that the change in pronouns can be confusing for some, and difficult to remember for others. It’s all about your intention. It’s important to me that you try, but if you make a mistake, it’s okay 😊🙏🏼💞 remember that I love you, and to keep going 🤟🏼☮️💗 #nonbinaryawarenessweek.”

In their statement, Demi revealed they sometimes misgender themselves and it’s okay if you misgender them. Demi emphasized respect in their message as well.

Demi was recently misgendered in front of another celebrity.
