Joshua Jackson Just Told the Story About How Wife Jodie Turner-Smith Proposed to Him

Joshua Jackson was not the one to pop the question in his relationship with Jodie Turner-Smith and he’s now opening up about the night she proposed to him.

The 43-year-old Dr. Death actor spoke out during an interview on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Monday (July 19) in New York City.

Joshua was asked if he always knew he’d marry Jodie and he said, “I knew the moment she asked me.” He then told the story about how she asked.

“She asked me. Yeah, on New Year’s Eve,” Josh said. “We were in Nicaragua. It was very beautiful, incredibly romantic. We were walking down the beach, and she asked me to marry her.”

He continued, “There was like a preamble. There was a lead-up to it.”

Joshua said he didn’t know she was going to ask, adding, “I did not know, but she was quite adamant, and she was right. This is the best choice I ever made.”

He tweeted after the taping, “Thank you @jimmyfallon for having me on the show. And giving me the opportunity to clear up some misconceptions about my wedding proposal.”
