Morgan Wallen Speaks Out for First Time Since Racial Slur Scandal, Responds to Criticism

Morgan Wallen is speaking out for the first time since he was caught on video using a racial slur back in February 2021.
The 28-year-old country singer was removed from radio stations around the country and rendered ineligible at awards shows, though his albums continued to top the charts and he has slowly been re-added to radio.
Morgan sat down for an interview with Michael Strahan, which will air on Good Morning America.
Michael says in the preview clip that “there’s going to be a lot of people who are going to watch this and say, ‘he’s only sitting down because he wants to clean up his image. It’s all a performance.’ So what do you say to that?”

Morgan said in response, “I understand that. I’m not ever going to make everyone happy. I can only come tell my truth and that’s all I know to do.”
The full interview will air on Friday morning (July 23) on ABC News’ Good Morning America.
