Tokyo Olympics 2020 Opening Ceremony - How to Stream & Watch!

The Tokyo Olympics are kicking off!

The Opening Ceremony of the Summer Games, will begin on Friday (July 23), and you can watch it live. (Note: the event is still being referred to as the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.)

Here’s how to watch…

Live coverage will begin at 6:55 a.m. ET on NBC (Tokyo is 13 hours ahead of the East Coast, and the Opening Ceremony begins at 8 p.m. in Japan), and can also be seen on the NBC Sports app and NBCOlympics.com.

There will be a re-airing at 7:30 p.m. ET later in the evening, plus a special edition of TODAY with interviews and reactions, followed by the Olympic Daytime show. Programming will include extensive coverage of Team USA, as well as performances, pageantry and Parade of Nations.

The Olympics will air across NBC, USA, CNBC, NBCSN, Olympic Channel: Home of Team USA and GOLF Channel, as well as Peacock.

Here is a complete breakdown of Friday’s (June 23) programming. All times Eastern Standard Time:

6:55 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. Live Opening Ceremony Coverage
11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Special Edition of TODAY
1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. Tokyo Olympics Daytime
7:30 p.m. – Midnight Primetime Opening Ceremony
12:35 a.m. – 1:38 a.m. Special Edition of Tonight Show
1:38 a.m. – 5:00 a.m. Overnight Replay of Opening Ceremony
