Simone Biles' Boyfriend Jonathan Owens Speaks Out in Support After She Withdraws From Olympics

Jonathan Owens is standing by Simone Biles.

The 26-year-old Houston Texans football player shared his support for Simone following her withdrawing from the 2021 Olympics in Tokyo, Japan.

“Whenever you get in a high stress situation you kind of freak out. I have to focus on my mental health and not jeopardize my health and wellbeing,” Simone stated after her choice was revealed. “We have to protect our body and our mind,” she continued. “It just sucks when you’re fighting with your own head.”

As Simone took to social media to congratulate her teammates – Sunisa Lee, Jordan Chiles, and Grace McCallum, who earned the silver medal in the team event – Jonathan also commented on the photo.

“I’m so proud of y’all 🤞🏽❤️,” he wrote.

After Simone announced her withdrawal, she was showered with tons of support from fans, family and a lot of celebrities.

In a recent interview, Jonathan claimed he didn’t know who Simone was when they first started dating last year.
