Joaquin Phoenix Looks Nearly Unrecognizable on Set of 'Disappointment Blvd.' Movie

Joaquin Phoenix has gone through another physical transformation for his latest movie role!

On Tuesday (July 27), the 46-year-old actor looked nearly unrecognizable while on set of his upcoming movie Disappointment Blvd. in Montreal, Canada.

In photos obtained by People, Joaquin is looking a lot older with thinning gray hair while sporting a scruffy beard.

At one point, Joaquin was spotted going shirtless, and he appears to have put on some weight for the new role.

Joaquin‘s new look is a big change from his role in 2019′s Joker, where he lost over 50lbs while getting into character.

As of right now, most plot details for Disappointment Blvd. are being kept under wraps, but the movie, directed by Ari Aster, is being described as “an intimate, decades-spanning portrait of one of the most successful entrepreneurs of all time.”

Joaquin will be starring in the movie alongside Amy Ryan, Kylie Rogers, Nathan Lane and Patti LuPone.
