Ty Pennington Announces Engagement to Kellee Merrell!

Ty Pennington is getting married!

The 56-year-old host of the HGTV show Ty Breaker, and former host of ABC’s Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, took to Instagram on Wednesday (July 28) to announce that he is engaged to girlfriend Kellee Merrell.

“It’s the ‘yes’ for me…” Ty wrote along with a photo of the 33-year-old social media manager showing off her stunning engagement ring.

People reports that Ty proposed to Kellee over morning coffee on the dock of his home in Palm Coast, Florida.

Ty and Kellee first met back in 2010 while he was filming a show in Toronto. The two stayed connected through mutual friends, and reconnected in 2020 when they quarantined together, during which their relationship grew.

“I have admired Kellee from afar for years. She’s a beautiful person inside and out,” Ty told People. “Luckily our paths finally crossed at the right time. It’s one of those things where you just feel happy being around a person. I never thought I would get married, but she changed that. Glad I waited for the one.”
