Shawn Johnson East Reveals Why Daughter Drew is 'Isolating' from Newborn Son

Shawn Johnson East is opening up about the hardships of being a mom.

Several days after welcoming her baby boy, the 29-year-old Olympic gymnast took to her Instagram Story to reveal that her 21-month-old daughter Drew is currently “isolating” from her baby brother.

On Wednesday (July 28), Shawn shared that Drew is fighting off a nasty ear infection.

“Healing prayers to my baby girl pretty please. She’s been hit hard with a bad ear infection and [respiratory syncytial virus],” Shawn first shared.

The following day, Shawn shared an update with fans, sharing on her Story that Drew is now staying with her grandparents as she gets better, so that she doesn’t get her baby brother sick.

“Had some of the hardest and most emotional days of my life trying to take care of both my babies but isolating from Drew,” Shawn wrote. “I would just hear her cry out for ‘mama’ and my soul would crush. She’s being spoiled like crazy by Gamma and Gampa, on the right medications now so getting better, and I was actually able to get some sleep last night. Thank you for your prayers.”

She added, “Wanted to just take it away for her and for her to come home ASAP. Miss my baby girl and miss my baby girl cuddles.”

Shawn and husband Andrew East announced the birth of their son back on Tuesday, July 20. The couple married back in 2016.

Several months ago, Shawn opened up about battling COVID-19 while pregnant.
