Swimmer Caeleb Dressel Wins Second Gold Medal at Tokyo Olympics - Find Out Why He Doesn't Keep the Medals!
Caeleb Dressel has added two more gold medals to his collection!
The 24-year-old American swimmer won the gold medal during the Men’s 100m freestyle on day six of the 2021 Tokyo Olympics on Thursday (July 29) in Tokyo, Japan.
Caeleb, who previously won two gold medals at the 2016 games in Rio, also picked up a gold this week in the 4x100m freestyle race.
The latest medal marks Caeleb‘s first solo medal at the Olympic games, but don’t expect him to keep the prized possessions at his home.

“It’s not about that for me,” Caeleb told NBC about why he doesn’t keep the medals. “I don’t keep any of that stuff. You guys should be jealous – I get to do the fun part, which is racing. I get to enjoy the race. I don’t need a piece of metal to remind me of that. I got to enjoy it.”
He added, “I think the sport chose me … I love the challenges it throws my way.”
