Abigail Breslin Feels Like People 'Forget' She's Not 9 Anymore After 'Little Miss Sunshine'

Abigail Breslin is getting honest about the public’s perception of her as an actress.

The 25-year-old Stillwater star spoke to iNews about her career post-Little Miss Sunshine.

“Sometimes people forget that I’m 25 years old and not 9 anymore. People tend to want to keep you in one specific pigeonhole,” she revealed of her starring role in the 2006 hit film.

“I would never want to distance myself from it. It opened so many doors for me and gave me so many opportunities and is the reason why I’m where I’m at today,” she went on to say.

“I don’t want to disrespect it. It’s sweet in a way because I think people felt so emotionally attached to that role and to that film. They want me to be Olive. I understand that. I’ll always have a bit of Olive in me, but I want to try new things.”

As the 15th anniversary of the movie approaches, Abigail also looked back on one of the most iconic scenes in the movie – her “Super Freak” dance scene.
