Kristin Chenoweth Talks About the Time She Accidentally Dated a Gay Man

Kristin Chenoweth is opening up about the time when she dated a gay man and how she realized he wasn’t actually straight.

The Tony and Emmy-winning actress, who stars in the new Apple TV+ series Schmigadoon, talked about her dating life in a recent interview with Los Angeles Magazine.

Kristin‘s character on the show, Mildred Layton, is married to a closeted Reverend played by Fred Armisen, which we learn at the end of the season. The reporter asked her, “Did you ever find yourself accidentally dating a gay man?”

Kristin replied, “Only once. He recognized my Louboutins. When you’re dating a man and he knows the brand of your shoes, immediately break up with him and become best friends. You know, I love my gays. I just don’t want to marry one. That’s all.”
