Announced earlier this year, Days of Abandonment was based on “My Brilliant Friend” by Elena Ferrante.

The movie would have revolved around Tess, a woman who abandoned her own dreams for a stable home life, and when she is abandoned by her husband, her world is thrown off its axis.

The project was due to begin filming soon in Sydney after receiving a $3.4 million grant from local officials. Natalie has been living in Sydney for a few months, as she shot the upcoming Thor: Love and Thunder there.
