Olympian Raven Saunders' Mom Dies Just Days After She Wins Silver Medal in Tokyo
Raven Saunders has received some sad news following her silver medal win at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
The shot put champion’s mother, Clarissa, has died.

The news was announced just days after Raven gained national attention not just for her athletic talent, but for her podium stance after accepting the silver medal.
She had posed with her arms above her head in an “X” position.
Now, Raven will be stepping back from social media to mourn the death of her mother. No cause of death was reported.
“Hoping off social media for a while to take care of my mental and my family. My mama was a great woman and will forever live through me. My number one guardian angel 🙏🏾 I will always and forever love you,” Raven wrote, with the video of Clarissa being interviewed.
During Raven‘s events, Clarissa was seen rooting for her daughter on Friday, July 30.
