Selena Gomez Responds to Jokes About Her Kidney Transplant on TV

Selena Gomez is speaking out.

After her fans called out The Good Fight for an insensitive joke about her health, as well as a previous joke made about her kidney transplant on the Saved by the Bell reboot, the 29-year-old star issued a statement on Twitter on Tuesday (August 3).

“I am not sure how writing jokes about organ transplants for television shows has become a thing but sadly it has apparently,” she said.

“I hope in the next writer’s room when one of these tasteless jokes are presented it’s called out immediately and doesn’t make it on air,” she continued.

“My fans always have my back. LOVE YOU. If you are able to please sign up to be an organ donor,” she added, along with a link.
