Luis Guzman to Play Gomez Addams in Upcoming 'Wednesday' Series Starring Jenna Ortega

Tim Burton has found his Gomez Addams!

It has been announced that Luis Guzman has signed on to play Gomez Addams in the upcoming Wednesday series heading to Netflix, Variety reports.

It was announced back in May that You actress Jenna Ortega was cast as Wednesday Addams in the upcoming series.

Over the years, actors Raul Julia, John Astin, and Tim Curry have played Gomez in live-action versions of The Addams Family. Most recently, Oscar Isaac voiced the character in the 2019 animated Addams Family movie.

Wednesday will be directed by Tim Burton with Smallville showrunners Al Gough and Miles Millar involved.

Here’s a synopsis, according to THR: Wednesday is described as a sleuthing, supernaturally infused mystery charting Wednesday Addams’ years as a student at Nevermore Academy. Wednesday’s attempts to master her emerging psychic ability, thwart a monstrous killing spree that has terrorized the local town, and solve the supernatural mystery that embroiled her parents 25 years ago — all while navigating her new and very tangled relationships at Nevermore.
