Joey Lawrence Announces Engagement to Lifetime Movie Co-Star Samantha Cope!

Joey Lawrence and Samantha Cope are engaged!

The 45-year-old actor, singer and host confirmed the exciting news to Page Six on Tuesday (August 10).

Joey told the outlet that falling in love with Samantha has been an “amazing journey.” The pair met last year on the set of a Lifetime movie directed by Joey‘s brother Andrew called A Deadly Deed.

“When you least expect it, obviously, is like when it usually works right in between all the plans that we make,” the Blossom actor said. “And I just met the most amazing person ever. Like your best friend and that person you really do share pretty much everything in common with.”

He added, “I know when you grow up, you always hear about opposites attract. But as we get older we realize you really do have to grow old with your best pal because there are so many areas in life where, you know, it will tear you apart if you’re not.”

Joey also shared that they had written a romantic comedy together, which will start filming later this year.

The actor was previously married to Chandie Lawrence, who he shares daughters Charleston, 15, and Liberty, 11, with.

The couple split in 2020 after 14 years of marriage.
