Kelly Clarkson Asks Judge to Restore Her Old Name Amid Divorce Dispute in Court

Kelly Clarkson wants her name back.

The 39-year-old Meaning of Life superstar asked a judge in her ongoing divorce case to restore her famous last name amid her battle with ex Brandon Blackstock, The Blast reported Wednesday (August 11).

According to legal docs, she is asking for a default judgment in her case, which will officially make her divorced. She is also asking for her name to be restored and legally change it moving forward.

The two are caught in a dispute over finances, including spousal and child support, as well as disputes over property.

“Petitioner requests restoration of the former name as set forth in the proposed judgment,” the docs read.

The Blast reports that Brandon “isn’t putting up a fight in this department, and most of the time the judge signs off on these sorts of requests right away.”
